Melisa (Lisa) Chase Potter began working as a Legal Assistant and Deaf Liaison with Bianca Law Firm in 2018. Lisa and handles the needs of the firm’s Deaf or Hard of Hearing clients. Lisa provides an invaluable resource to help everyone at Bianca Law Firm understand Deaf culture and to communicate effectively with members of the Deaf Community.
Lisa is a Deaf Advocate and a leader in the Deaf Community. She has an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood from Delgado Community College with a honor inductee in Zeta Kappa Epsilon; Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University with honors inductee in Kappa Delta Epsilon and Omicron Delta Epsilon as well as a Master of Science degree in Deaf Education from William McDaniel College in Maryland. She taught American Sign Language to hearing students (9th – 12th grade) at Massaponax High School for one year prior to moving back to Louisiana to teach at Louisiana School for the Deaf for ten (10) years (2005 - 2015).
Lisa is currently married to Gary Potter. She and her husband recently retired from the property management business after 12 years. They have 5 teacup Yorkies and a stray kitten all of which keep them occupied. Lisa has two sons, one granddaughter, one great grandson and one great granddaughter.
